In an awesome showcase of the driverless car simulation technology, TechPlus in collaboration with MTN Nigeria wowed several Lagos residents by test-running a car which drove itself on the streets of Lagos without no driver. The driverless car technology makes cars capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input.
Driverless vehicles detect surroundings using radar, lidar, GPS, odometry, and computer vision. It’s advanced control systems interpret sensory information to identify appropriate navigation paths, as well as obstacles and relevant signage.
Autonomous cars have control systems that are capable of analyzing sensory data to distinguish between different cars on the road, which is very useful in planning a path to the desired destination.
Ahead of the big date for Africa’s LARGEST Tech Gathering, #TechPlus2016, a press conference was organised today to afford journalists and digital media influencers first-rate access to the plans and agenda for the all-things tech event scheduled to hold from 21-23 July, 2016 at the EKO Hotels &Suites, Lagos-Nigeria.
Expectedly, the media conference also had in attendance sponsors and partners of #TechPlus2016, including MTN, Samsung, Lenovo, Jumia, IBST, Coscharis, The Guardian, Megalectics – Operators of the BeatFM, ClassicFM and NaijaFM and a host of other amazing sponsors.
