The Nigerian basketball team, D’Tigers also won their first match at the Rio Olympics by shocking Croatia 90-76 on Saturday, August 13, maintaining a slim chance of qualifying for the quarterfinals.

On August 11, US swimmer Michael Phelps won his fourth gold of this Olympiad in the finals of men’s 200m individual medley, tallying his  total Olympics medals to 28.

Tennis player Andy Murray also won Britain’s 15th Rio gold, as Usain Bolt won a record third 100m title.

Meanwhile Simone Biles, a 19-year-old American, won her first Olympic gold medal in gymnastics.
