40 Years Old Cameroonian Legend, Rigobert Song Fighting Death After Suffering Stroke


Legendary Cameron defender Rigobert Song is presently battling for his life after being rushed to hospital in Yaounde Sunday.



Former Liverpool and West Ham defender Song, who’s the head coach of the Chad national team, Los Sao, is said to be in a coma after coming down with a cerebral aneurysm.

The 40-year-old former centre-back was at his home in the Odza neighborhood in Yaounde when he had his stroke.

The former Indomitable Lions skipper, who’s an uncle to former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, won over a hundred caps with the national side and featured in three Fifa World Cups.

He captained Cameroon to consecutive Africa Cup of Nations successes in 2000 and 2002, and was emblematic of the gritty style the team became known for.
